Here is a great piece on entrepreneurship, entitled “Why Tom never killed Jerry?”, the main emphasis being that entrepreneurs love the chase, fortunately not the kill!
The chase is exactly what stimulates small business owners.
There are so many “things”, from events, to courses and widgets and gadgets that are being pushed and sold to small business owners that often the obvious doesn’t pop up. Small business owners are focused on the chase, the lead and the ultimate win.
The small business owner is hungry, willing to serve and dynamically going over and above to secure the lead, the business, the revenue, the cashflow.
So how do you go about the chase successfully?
Never be satisfied
If you are satisfied it’s over, always keeping reaching further and better. You have never heard Richard Branson, Steve Jobs or any number of entrepreneurs say, “That’s it, I’m done, this is the best I have got.”
Make time to think
Your business started from a thought; never stop thoughts, chase the thoughts, be excited about the thinking.
Mobile is your saviour
Mobile technology has changed the life of the small business owner. Keep your door open by using mobile devices, mobile applications; chase, track, watch, make your moves nimble.
Hide and seek
Don’t hide; as the chaser you must seek, sniff out all opportunities, wherever they may be hiding.
Keep chasing
Just like Tom chasing Jerry, never give up. Failure is not an option for Tom, even when he suffers pain and humiliation. He gets up and comes up with a new idea, a new innovation, a new plan. His pain leaves him as he sets about excited about the next chase.
