Phoebe Adams is the cofounder of Our little foxes, a subscription service for kids aged two to 10, that delivers fun, creative craft and activity projects delivered direct to their door every month.
We have two e-commerce platforms (100foxes.com and ourlittlefoxes.com) and chose Shopify for both.
With a limited technology background I was able to set up both sites with relative ease. We use Shopify to communicate with our suppliers and our consumers. It does our top line reporting and, most importantly, sends me push notifications on my mobile app when I get a sale. I check my phone each morning when I wake up to see what sales came in overnight.
We chose Shopify for its ease of set up, for its low cost, for its plug-ins which integrate with our other systems – for example Mailchimp and Xero – and for its ease of maintenance and reporting. I can actually go in and adjust code where possible myself, although thankfully I have better qualified people to do that now. The whole team uses it though with minimal training.
It doesn’t do everything we need, but for now, as we are in lean startup mode, it’s perfect.
