Samsung Electronics is rolling out an in-house system designed to encourage its staff to be more creative.
According to a report in the Korea Times, the consumer electronics giant is rolling out a company-wide “collective intelligence system” called Mosaic following a four-month trial.
The system allows staff to suggest ideas of possible interest to the company, with executives choosing feasible ideas. The ideas are then sent to a “creative lab” system where they are developed further.
Employees who suggest feasible ideas are rewarded under the system with additional points in their performance review and other incentives.
The company claims over 3000 ideas have been submitted through the system already.
Aside from sharing ideas, staff can also use the system to brainstorm or ask for assistance on work problems from experts.
The system is initially being rolled out to its staff in South Korea, and will be expanded to its overseas offices from next year.
