Facebook set to open Australian office

Social networking site Facebook is preparing to open an Australian office, but has not revealed how many people will be involved in the new venture.
The site, which was founded by Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg in 2004, will be looking to fill around six sales roles for the new office, according to advertising trade paper B&T. Public relations firm N2N Communications has been appointed by the site to handle the opening of the new office, but was reluctant to give details when contacted this morning.

“There will be an office opening in the near future, but at the moment there is no more information to give,” a spokesperson said.

Facebook regional sales vice president Paul Borrud is expected to announce who will be filling the key Australian roles for the company at the Ad:tech conference in Sydney this week.
