European Union regulators have temporarily halted investigations into Google’s acquisition of Motorola Mobility, according to a new Bloomberg report.
The move comes after Google announced the move earlier this year, saying it would spend $US12 billion to buy the company and its trove of patents.
According to a statement, the investigation will start up after “certain documents that are essential to its evaluation of the transaction”.
“We’re confident the commission will conclude that this acquisition is good for competition and we’ll be working closely and cooperatively with them as they continue their review,” a Google spokesperson said.
