Consumer electronics group Sharp has announced a new 80-inch LCD television that features built-in Wi-FI, LED backlighting and access to streaming film services.
The company announced the device this week, with recommended retail prices being set at around $5,000.
The company brags the device features a contrast ratio of 6,000,000:1, along with new motion technology that “virtually eliminates blur”.
Consumers want bigger flat panel TVs for deeper, more immersive viewing experiences and that’s exactly what Sharp’s delivering here,” Sharp Electronics president John Herrington said in a statement.
The device, which also features USB input, is set to ship in early October.
