Twitter is one of the biggest social networking sites on the internet, with new widgets and applications being made every day in order to interact with the service.
One of the newest features from an application is the ability to track packages, thanks to a new program from North Carolina company Signal Engine.
The service works by following “PackageTrack” on Twitter, which then causes that application to “follow” the user.
Then, the user provides PackageTrack with the nickname of a package along with its tracking number. The app then notifies them each time the package changes status, and gives a Google Map showing its route.
Currently the app services UPS, USPS and FedEx carriers, but the company says it will be adding more carriers for the service soon.
