Intel has joined US fashion and jewellery retailer Opening Ceremony in creating an upmarket smart bracelet aimed at female executives.
The bracelet, known as MICA (My Intelligent Communication Accessory) will discreetly display text messages, Gmail messages, Google Calendar and Facebook notifications, directions from TomTom and recommendations by Yelp.
In terms of styling, the device features an 18-karat gold coating with a curved-sapphire-glass touchscreen display.
It will come in two styles, with one offering black water snake skin, pearls from China and lapis stones from Madagascar. The other design will feature white water snake skin, tiger’s eye from South Africa and obsidian from Russia.
The device will retail in the US for $US495 ($568.34), including two years of mobile coverage through carrier AT&T.
