Former US presidential candidate Newt Gingrich has posted a video asking viewers for suggestions on ‘renaming the cell phone’.
In a video on his official YouTube channel, the one-time Republican congressman likens calling the modern mobile phone a ‘cell phone’ is akin to calling a car a horseless carriage.
Gingrich admits he used to call his cell phone a handheld computer, but believes that doesn’t encapsulate the full network connectivity of the device.
The former speaker then asks his viewers for their suggestion for renaming the device – perhaps the term ‘smartphone’ might be a good suggestion?
