Twitter co-founder Biz Stone admits the company never planned for success

Twitter co-founder Biz Stone has admitted his company had never planned for success during a speech delivered at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority’s annual meeting.

According to the Calgary Herald, Stone said:

“To succeed spectacularly you need to be willing to fail spectacularly. We can change the world, build a healthy business and have fun.”

“We never planned for success. We hadn’t hired enough or early enough, we hadn’t invested enough. That’s why the Fail Whale became so famous.”

“I never thought that celebrities would every take to Twitter. Celebrities are private people.”
