Twitter chief executive Dick Costolo has said an IPO isn’t something the company is thinking about right now.
In an interview at the Wired business conference in New York, Costolo said an IPO occurs when a business needs finance, but that isn’t a problem the company is facing right now.
“We financed the growth of the company the way we wanted to finance it last year,” Costolo said.
Costolo also said that since taking over the top job in October 2010, he has focused the company on scaling in an attempt to “organise the company in a way that allows [Twitter] to build and deliver products more efficiently”.
