For those of us who would like to know more about the new iPhone than the fact that it will be 3G, Apple has kindly released a couple of videos that showcase the desirable new gadget’s features.
Among the revelations to be gleaned from the videos (there is a 38 minute beginner’s guide and a shorter 12 minute product features run through), AppleInsider identifies the following interesting titbits:
Better audio: At the launch of the 3G iPhone Steven Jobs said the iPhone would have much improved audio, and now we know why – the 3G iPhone has a new microphone and speakers.
Gasp, a screw: Being the style fiends that they are, Apple generally wouldn’t design to allowing an exposed screw on one of their products, but apparently the new iPhone has two on its base – see the picture below.
Instant messenger will work: images on the iPhone shown in the video suggest that AOL instant messenger will be ready to run on it once released. AppleInsider predicts it will be available as a free application.
