Sony has begun the rollout of a software upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for its 2011 Xperia smartphones and devices.
According to the company, the first phase of the rollout began with an update for Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and Xperia Ray devices in Sweden, Denmark, Iceland, Finland and Norway.
The company expects the rollout to continue over the next four to six weeks, with other Xperia models receiving an upgrade in late May or early June.
The upgrade should help to improve the market share for Ice Cream Sandwich, which is currently installed on around 2.4% of Android devices worldwide.
