Technology and electronics giant Samsung is spending billions on new research and development centres, new reports suggest.
The Korea Times has reported Samsung will spend over $US4.5 billion over the next few years in order to construct the five new research centres.
“R&D is crucial to ensuring success in the rapidly-changing consumer electronics industry. Total investment will amount to 5 trillion won,” a sourced, named as an executive, told the publication.
The unnamed sourced also said that one centre alone will play host to 10,000 designers and developers.
