Samsung has revealed it is working on its own smartwatch, in competition to the Pebble and Apple’s rumoured iWatch.
Bloomberg reports the revelation was made by a senior executive during an interview in Seoul.
“We’ve been preparing the watch product for so long,” says Samsung mobile executive vice president Lee Young Hee.
“We are working very hard to get ready for it. We are preparing products for the future, and the watch is definitely one of them.”
Samsung’s work on a smartwatch came after news surfaced in February that Apple has a team of up to 100 staff working on a device, dubbed the iWatch, being built using flexible Willow glass technology.
