Samsung announces 10.1 inch Galaxy Note tablet, Jellybean coming for Galaxy S2, S3 and Note

Samsung has announced the release of a 10.1 inch version of its Galaxy Note tablet, while reports have surfaced the company is currently working on an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jellybean for its Galaxy S2 and S3 smartphones.

According to Sammobile, Samsung has already successfully completed tests of the Jellybean upgrade on the Galaxy S3, with the company awaiting approval from Google for a public release, which is expected in the third quarter of this year.

The Korean electronics and mobile giant is currently also testing Jellybean upgrades for its Galaxy S2, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Note 2 devices. According to reports, the initial tests have been successful and, subject to further testing, are anticipated to be released during the fourth quarter of this year.

In the meantime, Vodafone has announced that at 1pm AEST today, it will begin rolling out an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for Galaxy Note users on its Australian network. The upgrade will be available over the air or through Samsung’s KIES application.

Samsung also posted a video on its YouTube channel announcing a 10.1 inch version of its Galaxy Note tablet. The device will feature a quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, as well as highly integrated stylus support.
