RIM loses yet another major corporate client a week after Woolworths dumps BlackBerry

Embattled smartphone maker Research in Motion has lost yet another major enterprise client, less than a week after Australian retail giant Woolworths announced it is abandoning the company’s BlackBerry platform.

According to Bloomberg, Booz Allen Hamilton, a major consulting firm for the US Federal Government, is dropping RIM as a smartphone supplier for its 25,000 staff.

The company has already started decommissioning its BlackBerry messaging servers and plans to move staff onto Apple iPhones and smartphones running Google Android over the coming months.

Once the dominant smartphone maker for the government and enterprise sector, RIM has suffered the loss of a number of major clients following repeated delays to the company’s next-generation BlackBerry 10 platform.
