Optus has announced that it will launch 4G services across Melbourne from September 15, with a 4G version of the Samsung Galaxy S3 as its first smartphone for the network.
The company has also officially launched consumer plans across its network across Sydney, Perth and Newcastle as of today, although as SmartCompany has previously reported, the network expansion across Sydney and Perth was complete as of early August.
The carrier has made the 4G Samsung Galaxy S3 available for pre-order via the Optus website on a $30 plan with a $21 handset repayment.
Telstra had reportedly been testing a 4G Samsung Galaxy S3 in June, although has not yet released it on its 4G network.
