Nokia has teased a major announcement at a joint press conference with Microsoft on September 5, posting a video that claims “things are about to change”.
According to The Verge, the video has widely been interpreted as hinting at the announcement of the company’s new smartphones, expected to run Windows 8.
The launch comes at a critical time for the company, after it was revealed earlier this week that shareholders of the Finnish phone giant are considering calling for an extraordinary general meeting to replace current CEO Stephen Elop.
Once the world’s largest phone company, Nokia has lost significant ground in recent years to Apple and Android smartphones, recently losing its position as the world’s largest phone company by marketshare to Samsung.
