Nokia’s share price slumps 13% after revealing two Windows Phone 8 smartphones

Nokia has unveiled its first two Windows Phone 8 smartphones at a joint press conference with Microsoft. However, the markets were not impressed with the announcements, sending Nokia’s share price down 13%.

According to The Wall Street Journal, during the announcement Nokia announced two new handsets running Windows 8: The flagship Lumia 920 and the lower-end Lumia 820.

A key feature of the Lumia 920 is wireless charging, available as an optional extra on the 820, as well as an 8.7 megapixel “PureView” camera. The Lumia 920 will feature a 4.5 inch screen and be available in red or yellow.

Both phones will feature dual-core Qualcomm Shapdragon S4 processors as well as Pure Motion HD displays, which the company claims are superior to other displays on the market.

Nokia says it will reveal further details about pricing and availability during the fourth quarter.
