The new iPhone prototype may include NFC (near field communication) capabilities, according to a new report from 9to5Mac.
The site has analysed data from two previous prototypes, and suggests that these control the ability for NFC controllers to be connected to a main power management unit.
The rumour comes just after Apple released a new Passbook app with iOS 6, which allows users to maintain control over coupons and online passes.
But this isn’t the first time Apple has been rumoured to be working on NFC capabilities. The company even has a patent for something called “iWallet”, which would allow users to pay for goods using their phone.
