Billy Tucker was, until recently, the chief executive of group buying site Cudo, but he’s just left to start a new business called 57 Signals.
Tucker says his favourite gadget is one of the least popular – Windows Phone 7. It hasn’t taken off in Australia yet, but Tucker says he’s absolutely hooked.
“I use Windows Phone 7. I was at a conference last week, and the speaker asked if anyone had an iPhone, an Android phone, and so on. I was the only one out of about 400 people that put my hand up to say I had a Windows Phone 7.”
“I love the customisable front-end. The user interface is so great. The tiles give me instant access to people. For instance, my wife is one of the tiles. It tells me when I get an email from her, and any activity about her shows up.”
“They’re called live tiles, and they’re fantastic. You can customise them however you want. I really hope this reaches critical mass and becomes more popular.”
