Mozilla has demonstrated a working prototype of its forthcoming Firefox OS smartphone platform at its offices in San Francisco.
According to AllThingsD, Mozilla demonstrated a developer phone built by ZTE running a working version Firefox OS, demonstrating key features including the camera, Mozilla Marketplace and dialler.
Mozilla says the device will come pre-installed with about 15 core apps, including email, SMS, calendar, Firefox browser and camera.
In July, Mozilla revealed that it had signed TCL/Alcatel and ZTE as hardware partners for its smartphones, with a number of mobile carriers expressing interest in the devices ahead of its 2013 release.
