Facebook has announced new policies for Pages and Groups, following criticisms from advertisers their advertisements were appearing on objectionable fan pages.
In a new post, Facebook has said it needs to do more to prevent situations where ads have appeared on these offensive pages.
“Beginning on Monday, we will implement a new review process for determining which Pages and Groups should feature ads alongside their content,” it said in the post.
“This process will expand the scope of Pages and Groups that should be ad-restricted. By the end of the week, we will remove ads from all Pages and Groups that fall into this new, more expansive restricted list.”
Facebook also said while the process will be run manually for the next few weeks, more automated processes will be put in place soon.
“While these changes won’t have a meaningful impact on Facebook’s business, they will result in benefits to people and marketers.”
