Facebook is considering an acquisition of the Opera browser, according to a new report in PocketLint.
This comes after some reports have previously indicated Facebook had been looking at a browser at various points during the past few years.
PocketLint has reported that “according to our man in the know”, the company wants to enter into the browser market to take on Mozilla, Google and Microsoft.
Buying a browser would save Facebook the work of having to make its own. The company has already worked on desktop software, with the release of its Messenger app for windows – a browser would be a logical progression in its step to make more dedicated software.
