Customer satisfaction survey: Samsung and Apple trail smartphone competitors in both the UK and US

Both Apple and Samsung have been overtaken by competitors in terms of consumer satisfaction is the surprising finding of a new survey of consumers in the US and UK.

The survey, conducted by market research firm On Device, asked 93,825 consumers in the US to rank their satisfaction with their current smartphone.

It found Google/Motorola’s Atrix HD managed an average score of 8.57, ahead of Motorola’s Droid Razr M on 8.5 and the HTC Rezound 4G scored 8.32.

All three scored higher than both the highest rated Samsung product, the Galaxy Note 2 (which scored 8.26), and Apple’s iPhone 5 (8.23).

The situation was slightly different in the UK, with Apple and Samsung claiming four of the top five spots in a survey of 52,140 UK mobile users, although again both companies were pipped by HTC’s One X smartphone with an average score of 8.47.

In contrast, the Apple iPhone 5 scored 8.21, ahead of three Samsung devices (the Galaxy Note 2 on 8.18, the Galaxy S3 Mini on 8.18 and the Galaxy S3 on 8.09).
