Canadian company to roll out bitcoin ATMs

Canadian company Bitcoiniacs has announced plans to roll out ATM-style bitcoin kiosks across Canada, with the first set to come into operation in Vancouver during October and four more expected by December.

According to the CBC, the machines, sourced from Las Vegas-based firm RoboCoin, allow people to easily transfer funds between traditional currencies and bitcoin.

The machines prompt people about how much money they would like to spend purchasing bitcoins.

The user is then presented with a QR code that transfers the bitcoins into their wallet.

“Basically, it just make it easier for people to buy and sell bitcoins and hopefully will drive the adoption of bitcoin, and make it more accessible for people,” says Bitcoiniacs  founder Mitchell Demeter.
