The Australian Taxation Office’s free software for filing tax returns is still not available on the Mac.
ITNews has reported the effort to bring the software to the Mac was delayed due to internal issues at the ATO.
“The platform isn’t mature enough or stable enough for our needs yet and that’s the primary reason why we have chosen to not deploy it for this year’s tax time,” ATO chief information officer Bill Gibson told the publication.
“But we’re quite confident that we will be able to for next year’s tax time.”
Apparently an early version of the Mac version didn’t pass some acceptance tests, including tests to judge performance and security.
