Apple iPhone 5C low-end smartphone photos leak as Steve Wozniak warns of tough fight ahead

New details of Apple’s low-end iPhone have leaked ahead of its rumoured launch on September 10.

The website Sim-only Radar claims the device will feature a dual-core CPU (unknown clock speed), a 4-inch display at 1136 x 640 pixels, 1 GB RAM, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a 1.2-megapixel front camera.

According to the report, the device will measure in at 124.2 x 58.4 x 7.6 mm, weigh 106 grams, and be available with 16, 32 or 64 gigabytes of storage

The news comes as high-resolution photos of the device leaked via Chinese social media site Weibo.

However, in an interview with the BBC, Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak warns the company will have a tough time competing against Samsung’s established low-end distribution channels.

“Samsung had great marketing prowess. They also had distribution channels in so many markets of the world that Apple was not in, because Apple more-or-less grew up under the Macintosh, which had a low world market share,” Wozniak says.

“You are going up against people that already have the connections, the business strategies, the business methodologies of those other parts of the world.

“It is going to be a fight for Apple and a worthy fight.”
