Android is dominating the booming Chinese mobile phone market, while competitors such as Apple struggle, according to new sales figures.
The Analysis International figures, published by Phone Arena, show that Android achieved a marketshare of 68.4% in Q4, well ahead of rivals such as Symbian (18.7%) and Apple (5.7%).
Other platforms struggle in the Chinese market, with Windows Phone holding only 1.2% of the market and the BlackBerry marketshare a statistically insignificant 0.1%.
The news means that Android is in a stronger position in China than in the US, where Android marketshare recently reached 50%, compared to 30.2% for Apple.
