Facebook’s local head of operations has stepped down, according to a new report in the Australian Financial Review.
The report claims that Paul Borrud, who came to Australia in 2009 to head up the company’s local operations, is leaving the company but will remain in Australia after having obtained citizenship.
A number of candidates are said to be up for the role, including former ninemsn chief Jo Pollard, along with former Fairfax executive Liam Walsh.
Facebook has millions of users in Australia, but its local office is based on sales and marketing rather than software and development, which is mostly based in the United States.
