There are new details emerging about the iPad3 amid reports that Apple has begun mass production of the device.
Bloomberg reports that Apple’s manufacturing partner, Foxconn Technology Group, began production on the device earlier this month and intend to increase production through February ahead of a possible March launch.
The most significant detail to emerge is that the new tablet will use next generation “4G” LTE mobile networks.
Other features cited in the Bloomberg article include a quad-core processor and a high resolution display.
Telstra launched its “4G” LTE network last year with a handset expected to be released later this month, Optus expects to launch its own LTE network in late April (a month after the possible iPad3 launch), while Vodafone is still trialling the technology.
