The FreeBSD Release Engineering Team have released the first stable version of Free BSD 9.0.
Key features of the new release include improved Kernel support for sandboxing through Capsicum Capability Mode, as well as support for softupdates journaling in The Fast Filesystem.
The release uses Gnome version 2.32.1 or KDE version 4.7.3 as its standard desktop environment.
Derived from BSD UNIX and based on a similar architecture to Apple’s OSX, FreeBSD is a UNIX-compliant open source operating system predominantly used on servers.
