Microsoft has announced to a major online security conference that it is in the process of preparing a real time security feed about botnets and other online threats.
The feed will distribute cyber security threat information collected by the company in real time to ISPs, business partners, emergency response teams and governments.
The announcement was made by T.J. Campana, from Microsoft’s Digital Crimes Unit, at the 2012 International Conference on Cyber Security in New York.
Interestingly, given Microsoft’s recent slide in server market share, the threat intelligence feed will run on the Apache Hardoop platform rather than Microsoft IIS.
