Microsoft has announced next year’s Consumer Electronics Show will be the company’s last to feature a keynote or booth presence.
In a statement, the company said while it will continue to participate in the event it will scale back its participation.
“We’ll continue to participate in CES as a great place to connect with partners and customers across the PC, phone and entertainment industries, but we won’t have a keynote or booth after this year because our product news milestones generally don’t align with the show’s January timing,” corporate vice president of communications Frank Shaw said in a statement.
Microsoft has been a part of the CES for 20 years.
The firm has also confirmed to Engadget that CES 2012 won’t have much “significant news, but more of a wrap up of the strong year the company has had in consumer”.
