James Breeze is the founder of Objective Digital, a website testing company that has worked with some of the country’s largest firms including Westpac and Telstra.
Breeze says his favourite piece of technology is something he actually uses for work – a gadget that tracks where a website tester’s eyes are moving.
“We have someone sit in front of a machine called an eye-tracker. It’s an infa-red device that can see where every user is looking, what they’re doing, and the information they can see.”
“What this does is make the testing so much easier. We can understand where people are looking, and then match up their behaviour with the expressions on their face and where their eyes having been moving.”
“When we show clients what a user has done and where their eyes are when they are reacting to something, they can get a really great understanding of why the user has done whatever they have done.”
