Android records 10 billion app downloads

Google has now recorded more than 10 billion app downloads in the Android Market, the company announced in a blog post overnight.

The internet giant said Android had now exceeded 10 billion separate app downloads, with a growth rate of one billion new app downloads every month.

As a result, the company has launched a new sale with apps discounted to just 10 cents. The programs on sale are from a variety of studios, with different apps to go on sale every day.

“Of course, none of these apps would have existed if it weren’t for the developers who created them. Every day, these developers continue to push the limits on what’s possible and delight us in the process,” Google said.
