Microsoft may be looking at bringing its Office software to the iPad next year, a new Daily report has claimed.
The move comes despite Microsoft pushing its own Windows 8 software which is set to appear on a number of new tablets next year.
The report claims that Microsoft is looking at two versions, one that would work for iOS and another that would work with OS X Lion.
Although several versions of Office software are available on iOS, the official Office suite has never been made for the platform.
The report claims the full versions of Office and Windows 8 are expected to launch during 2012 some time.
