Smartphone and consumer electronics manufacturer HTC has said it will start looking at emerging markets next year, and may even launch a tablet device, according to a Reuters report.
The report states that HTC has said it is also open-minded about acquiring patents in order to keep on top of potential legal battles.
HTC chief executive Peter Chou told the publication that it will move into emerging markets but will work to keep the current image of its brand.
“Tablet is a market we would like to try and test, to see whether we can make ourselves stand out and prevent a me-too product,” he said.
