Motorola Mobility will lose 800 jobs as it merges with Google, according to a new report from Business Week.
The report states that according to a regulatory filing, the company will lose 800 jobs as it incurs $31 million in costs.
“Motorola Mobility continues to focus on improving its financial performance by taking actions to manage the company’s costs,” a Motorola spokesperson told the publication.
Google purchased Motorola last month in order to gain control over its patents. The move also comes as the firm moves more into producing hardware alongside its Android mobile operating system.
