Samsung achieved a record quarterly sales result of 14.9 trillion won, the company announced last week, in a figure up 37% from the same period last year.
But while the company also announced it shipped 27.9 million smartphones, it would not reveal a specific sales figure.
Revenue rose 3% year on year to 41.2 trillion won, with net income of 3.44 trillion, down 23% from the same time last year. It also noted some weaknesses in other divisions.
“Affected by the global economic slowdown, panel sales growth will continue to be limited in the fourth quarter although the year-end and Chinese New Year holidays are expected to lift demand. As demand for tablet devices increases.”
“Samsung expects to maintain strong earnings momentum in the OLED business by broadening its customer base and offering a diverse product line-up.”
