Over 600,000 Facebook accounts are attacked everyday by hackers, with many being compromised, according to the social network.
In a blog post, the company stated that 0.06% of hundreds of millions of logins are compromised every day. But as Sophos points out, that’s one account for every 140 milliseconds.
The revelation came alongside new security features, including one new feature that will allow you to highlight trusted friends who can help you out if you can’t access your account.
“The idea is that if you need to login to Facebook but can’t access your email account, Facebook will send codes to your friends that they can pass on to you.”
Facebook also said it is testing a couple of other features, including a new feature that will allow users to set a password for third-party applications.
