Sales of the Kindle Fire could reach five million during the holiday quarter, one analyst has predicted.
Amazon announced the Kindle Fire as a competitor to the iPad last month, with chief executive Jeff Bezos launching the device in a press conference.
According to Boy Genius Report, JP Morgan analyst Douglas Anmuth says Amazon will sell up to five million tablets in the fourth quarter – although it will only be available for six weeks.
However, some have disagreed, with Morgan Stanley’s Scott DeVitt writing that Amazon could sell only 2.8 million.
Reports have indicated that already tens of thousands of pre-orders are being recorded every day.
