Despite rumours that Facebook would appear at Apple’s iPhone conference yesterday, the company was nowhere to be found, but new reports indicate it will hold its own event.
TechCrunch had previously reported that Facebook would appear at the event to show off its iPad app. But now, it reports that Facebook had been told at the last minute it wouldn’t appear.
Instead, it now appears as if the company will be sending invitations to its own event, where it will debut an HTML5 version of its mobile site, along with an iPad app.
Facebook has had its iPad app completed for several months, but has chosen to keep it under wraps until an official launch.
