Swiss political group moves to reduce PowerPoint usage

A Swiss political group wants to reduce the number of presentations made using the Microsoft PowerPoint software, saying it would be better for mankind if alternatives were used instead.

The Anti-PowerPoint Movement, led by Matthias Poehm, claims that too many businesses and organisations are relying on PowerPoint too much.

“We want the number of boring PowerPoint presentations decreased,” the movement states on its website.

While the movement states that it does not want to ban PowerPoint usage altogether, it does state that alternative slideshow presentation software will make presentations “more exciting and interesting”.

“Companies, conferences, schools, universities should no longer have to justify using PowerPoint,” it says.
