Apple may be investigating a new television streaming service, or even a new television product itself, according to new rumours circulating the tech industry.
The rumours come as Apple has quashed its rental option for television shows on the Apple TV product, fuelling speculation that the company has put in a bid for television streaming service Hulu, which is up for sale.
That comes as a story in the Wall Street Journal claims that Apple is working on a new technology that will stream content to televisions.
Separately, a story on VentureBeat quotes analyst Gene Munster, who believes that Apple is working on a television to be released in either 2012-2013, and cited component manufacturers to lend credence to his theory.
Rumours also indicate that Apple could be working on a way to bring the iOS software to the television screen.
