Tech giant Apple has been granted a patent for a solar powered device, according to the blog Patently Apple.
It is the second solar-powered related patent that has been granted to the iPhone maker.
The blog states that the new patented device is a “solar power tracking apparatus”, that includes a voltage converter and a controller.
“The voltage converter includes an input capable of being coupled to a solar power source and an output capable of being coupled to an electronic load, such as, for example, a portable electronic device.”
While Apple lodges several patents throughout the year, it is unlikely many of them will ever reach a commercial stage for some time.
