Nokia may drop mobile prices

Manufacturing giant Nokia may drop its mobile prices by the end of the year, new reports have suggested, in order to increase sales.

The report comes as Nokia is preparing to launch its first Windows models by the end of the year, as part of its partnership with Microsoft.

According to Boy Genius Report, Russian tech blogger Eldar Murtazin says Nokia is preparing to cut prices by 10% in order to gain market share.

Nokia has been losing share to Apple and Android, with critics saying it failed to adapt to the fast-growing smartphone market. However, analysts say the company will regain market share with the growth of Windows 7 mobile.
