Google has announced the Android market will be given an update for smartphones, attempting to better highlight the more popular apps.
The company has said in a blog post that the new interface is meant to create a better user interface and reduce the amount of time needed to purchase apps. New features include a new promotional page, new graphics, and apps are now divided into more categories.
“For users who are ready to buy, we’ve streamlined the click-to-purchase flow so that users can complete a purchase in two clicks from the app details page,” Google said in a post directed at developers.
“During the purchase, users can also see a list of your other apps, to help you cross-sell your other products.”
Users will also be able to purchase videos through the Android Market.
