Users of iOS devices have downloaded more than 15 billion apps from Apple’s App Store, the company announced late last week.
The store, which launched in 2008, now offers more than 425,000 apps for all iOS devices, including 100,000 that are specifically designed for the iPad.
Philip Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, said in a statement that the store has “grown to become the most exciting and successful software marketplace the world has ever seen”.
“Thank you to all of our amazing developers who have filled it with over 425,000 of the coolest apps and to our over 200 million iOS users for surpassing 15 billion downloads.”
